Very fine detailed quality model of a stuffed quail in a french polished "mahogany" wooden case.  The quail has been feathered with real feathers.  It is set in a landscape of dried grasses.

Typical Victorian taxidermy of an owl with a mouse under its foot.  The Victorians particularly liked animal studies that replicated the real world.  The owl has been feathered and the mouse furred.  The picture does not do this justice.
